Dear Parents
Throughout the afternoon, I and my team have been monitoring the numerous travel restrictions enforced by the French government due to the inclement weather, and we have been in close communication with our bus company, Savac. We strongly anticipate an arret préfectoral to be communicated this evening, and this does not allow us to run our bus service.
I write to inform you that Marymount will be adjusting to remote learning for the day (Tuesday, January 6th) via Google Classroom. Teachers will post work and activities on Google Classroom for a day of asynchronous learning.
While we regret not sharing a beautiful snowy day of in-person learning, the travel restrictions fall outside our scope; our priority is, of course, the safety of each one of our students, families, teachers, and staff.
For our new students who have just arrived to France, we look forward to hearing how you enjoyed your first glimpse of how beautiful Paris is under a blanket of snow!
You will have received all of your connection details to Google Classroom from the IT Department. As needed, you can reach our IT Department for parent tech support from 8h30 – 12h or with an email to ithelpdesk@marymount.fr
We will inform you during the day tomorrow with regard to our learning model for Wednesday January 7th.
I would like to thank our teachers who ably and with graceful adaptability will transition to a remote learning model tomorrow. I also thank Estel Camprecios for her cool head and quick organization of the bus services this afternoon.
Thank you and best wishes,
Sarah Thomas
